The World War 1 Museum and Memorial is a great place for all ages and you really learn a lot about the horror and tragedy of World War 1 and what it was like to fight in the war. The two things I remember are the poppy field that you walk over to get into the gallery and the quote from a soldier in the war, [sic] “People think hell is fire, but I’ll tell you what hell is, hell is mud.” It was very moving.
Go take a trip to Union Station and Crown Center. They are great places for all kids. You get to see the train station and what it was like in its hay day. If you want to see the train yard, head on over to Argentine and take a look. It is quite amazing. It is the biggest freight train yard in the country, except maybe behind Chicago, IL. It is very debatable.
